Description
The vinification: The cuvée is an elegant blend of 60% Shiraz, 30% Cabernet and 10% Merlot. The most aromatic grapes are selected from various vineyards in the Western Cape region. In order to ensure the best conditions for the further processing of the high-quality harvest, the grapes are only harvested in the cool hours of the early morning. This procedure serves to protect them from the intense heat of the day. After a cold maceration lasting two to three days, the mash is fermented for about a fortnight. After malolactic fermentation, the wine matures for another 12 to 24 months in French oak barrels.
Tasting notes: Powerful and present, like a rhino in the savannah, the Cuvée shows a dark ruby red colour in the glass. It impresses the nose with generous aromas of concentrated blackberry, ripe plums, finely balanced spice and hints of oak. Complex aromas of blackberries, plums and spices combine delightfully with velvety tannins on the palate. The wine delights with a beautiful balance of spice, acidity and fruit into an elegant finish.
Food pairings: Perfectly pairs with dark meats such as beef, game and lamb, couscous with vegetables or with osso buco and porcini risotto. We recommend drinking the wine at a temperature of between 14-16 °C.
