Description
The color is deep red. On the nose, red fruits and wild blackberries combine with a touch of liquorice. On the palate, the palate is round, the tannins are supple and there is a nice acidity with aromas of red fruits and a nice persistence on the finish.
It will accompany grilled red meats or poultry with spicy sauces.
The grapes were picked at optimum ripeness (25 Balling). The Pinotage was harvested in mid-February and the Merlot was harvested at the end of March. The varieties were vinified separately between 28 and 30°C with regular pumping over. After fermentation, the wine is blended and then completed by malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Before bottling, the wine is stabilized and lightly filtered.
